Hi All, Not a PP question, but sending it out there to see if others experience the same... Are any of you on Committees????? If so do you experience the following: Sense of getting nothing achieved.... In fighting Intra politics Have to adhere to political correctness Length in making a desicison All in all I am finding being on a committee is very unhealthy, especially when I am the type Not to worry about political correctness Can make a decision without having to instigate another committee to make the decision Could not care less about intra politics ( just do the job will you people) Fight at home, I don't have time for this crap..... There are always the odd few who make you unwelcome at first, there are some who are too nice while there are some that seem to do nothing but get all the credit. Being involved in a few projects in my time I have learnt you must search for one which works for you, some will, some won't but don't be scared like a running headless goose, wait and see what happens. Sometimes after discovering your true self or what you have to offer, they may become more interested. Why not spruce some fragrance samples around once you have come part of the welcome. Don't do it too early, some might say your there just for your own benefit. Like I said becareful hun but enjoy the search, perhaps you are with the wrong one or maybe the non welcome party, perhaps it will get better, just sit in there and see what happens but make sure you have fun. Remember it's not always productive, some days I think it's rather pointless, but if on the bottom line you're getting somewhere, then stay.

Its unfortunate that you are experiencing this Richard - I can only imagine how frustrating it must be for you.
At the moment I am not on any committees due to lack of time but in the past have seen this happen on more than one occassion. Sometimes you are lucky and get people who really want to get down to work and achieve what it is the committee was formed for in the first place. However as you are experiencing there is the dreaded flip side - the people that have a hidden agenda, the ones that seem to be only to say they are on a committee.
In your position I would probably speak up and say " i was under the impression that we are here to achieve xyz what steps are we going to take to do this and by what date. I'm a really busy person and have numerous other commitments so I want to make sure I am available for both what I need to take care here and in my business"
Tactful but too the point. If they don't get it - then maybe the sledgehammer over the head approach may be needed.
Just some food for thought. I wish you good luck with it.

Thanks... Phew..... I thought it was me :) I need to take my own advise that I give to many which is... Why am I surprised at all??????? They are humans........... Kelly = Tact and Richard = hahahahahahah lol Michelle = Some of what you said, I had no idea what you where refering to honey, either or... it appears that committies are indeed somewhat the same all over.... Hi all, For those that know me....... as you would guess it is unlikely that I will attack a problem with tact = as i find wishy washy wording takes forever to achieve... I am going to put a copy of a letter ( deleting names ) to show how I do things.... Am I a man on an island alone???????? Letters: To Whom this may concern...
I am personally going over the entire ACH website for faults to be adjusted.
My first click found fault straight away...
Looking at fact sheet 6, being the tenant council...
Are we Cumberland Housing Co - op

Are we ACH.....
If this is not to be changed, why not include old data from Western Suburbs housing?????

Considering I was never with Cumberland, I wish the fault reversed, and to be corrected... Or are we the Ex Bankstown office in disguise???????? with old western suburbs housing tenants just here for lip service...
Richard is this what you think the tenant council was established for? This sort of behaviour is unhelpful. If your commentary is to be focused on negative aspects it does nothing to improve the Tenants situation. We will however review the matters on the web site and make alterations where necessary. Hi ............, It worked didn't it.... Changes will be now made... As stated my methods do not fit in with code of conduct, so you won't need to worry much longer, however before I go, I will continue to be myself, and if seeing error, point it out, if seeing inconsistencies - show them..... My methods work, are they appreciated = probably not, but I do get the job done, and non paid....If paid staff did do their job correctly, then there would be nothing for me to comment on..... it's not rocket science...
