What was you very best party?

Not neccessarily best sales wise but the one you came away from feeling like you were in the right business.

As much as I love Princess House my best so far in all my years of doing Party Plan was an UCW party.

I had a girl in the crowd that was clearly uncomfortable and was sitting with her ultra girly sister in law (hostess).   She was dressed in mens shorts and a flannelette shirt, no bra (yep it was obvious) - I just knew she would buy nothing.  Was I wrong.

After everyone had left the hostess came up and asked me if I could help out here.

Apparantly this girl had suffered from a flesh eating bacteria after her last caesarian and hadn't worn a bra since or dressed in anything but loose, baggy, mens gear.  She had been in various shops and had the worst experiences with shop attendants and their comments on her scars, so she never bought anything but menswear.  She was even told straight at one place that she would never be permitted to try on or return clothing because of the disease that she had suffered.

I helped her with bras and some skirts and loose fitting tops.

Next party I saw her at was a Princess House one and WOW what a difference.

This girl had her UCW on and was confident and glowing - she had gotten her hair cut and dyed and had a little make up on.  She came up twirled around in front of me and hugged and thanked me for my hand in bringing her back.

She now has a job and is always smiling everytime I see her - she has also become a great friend.

Even though I don't sell UCW anymore I have passed her onto a lovely consultant that has been filled in on her situation and she is in good hands.

This was my best, surely you have had similar too and I would love to hear about them.

We have all posted about bad parties now it's time to reflect on the good ones.

What a lovely story M!

I have 2 best parties - first was with my last company.  I had decided to throw it all in for various reasons, and was doing one last booking before leaving.  Well this hostes was lovely, her family was warm and welcoming and we giggled and gossiped all night! Was an absolute pleasure.  She was a pain in the butt to collect payment from, but hey the party itself was the best.

With my new company, I have enjoyed each and every demo and workshop I have done, but the one I did the weekend before last was one I won't beat for some time.  The lovely NixandBuz was there (the hostess was her friend and a referral), and the 6-7 of us had a great time creating.  Only down side was I wish I'd had my kit stored better as I fumbled a bit looking for what I wanted.  But what a lovely and fun bunch of ladies - I got 2 bookings out of it, and both are going to be great fun :)

What great stories!

My favourite party was one where the hostess wanted to cancel. She'd been ill and although she'd sent out the invitations, she hadn't been well enough to follow up. was convinced 'no one will come' and if anyone did show up 'they won't buy anything'... I wasn't feeling too confident myself but I thought we may as well go ahead because it was too late to try to let everyone know it wasn't on.

Well, she obviously has more friends than she thought, because they all came (some were even on time!) and they cleared me out! They ate all of the cake the hostess had made, loved the products and were absolutely lovely to deal with. I actually ran out of pages in my receipt book!

The hostess was thrilled with her freebies and I think she was also really touched by how many of her friends came without her needing to beg. It was a GREAT party!

I have made many great friend throug tupperware and many favorite parties but my most recent fav one was last weekend, The time came for the party to start and we only had 4 people there but we got started and played a game and made some coktails etc and then over the next hour or so more and more people kept arriving and there ended up with about 15 people, all of which were lovely and determined to have a fun day and so it was! THe sales were about 1800 and got 2 bookings and the part i love the best about party plan...... the host rewards, she ended up with about $300 worth of product and she is only going to be out of pocket $2.45!

I wish they could all be like that!

My favourite party was one of my very first Intimo parties. My sister kindly agreed to help me out with getting my business started by hosting a party. She agreed saying 'I'm not promising anyone will come though as my friends often say they're coming and then don't.' I told her not to worry, that if noone came then at the very least I could practice my presentation on her.

The day came and ALL her friends showed up - with kids in tow. It was like a huge mother's group and everyone had a great time. They took turns watching each other's kids so that they could come and be fitted for bras and clothes etc and spent a fourtune! Most of the girls were desperate for new bras and nearly all had never been fitted properly before. I made heaps of sales and contacts and my sister got quite a few sets of lingerie and outerwear for FREE! Now she's my walking advertisement as she often gets asked where she bought her outfit from.

It was a really great party in so many ways and it will be really difficult to top!

Isn't it lovely when you come away from a party feeling as good as these girls above?

I was kind of hoping for a lot more responses here - surely we have all done a party like these.

At this time of year we are getting tired and in need of some positive inspiration.

Come on girls/guys think, type and share your best even if it was just one customer that sticks out in your mind, one person that you know in your heart that because of your business you changed their lives or outlook on their situation or even on the product you sell.

I have one customer that sticks out in my mind...

She had booked a party for yesterday but had to postpone until early December due to personal commitments.  She is a friend of the recent hostess which I mentioned earlier in this thread, and she is one of the loveliest ladies you ever hope to meet.  She is very new to cardmaking and scrapbooking and is so eager to learn new things, and is such a pleasure to deal with, both on a personal and professional level.

This lady is going through some very difficult circumstances, and just to see the change in her after an hour or two at one of my make and take demos, is just wonderful.  She relaxes, and enjoys herself immensely - and, unlike some people I have come across, listens and seems to absorb absolutely everything I say.

It is such a pleasure to look after customers like this, and I think about her often, and have introduced a couple of new demo projects specifically with her in mind - I know she'll love them.

I've had a woman thank me and give me a huge kiss because she was wearing a 24DD bra and she was actually only a 16E.

10 minutes in the bedroom with me and she walked out 4 sizes smaller! lol.

Based purely on results my best party was $2800 in sales (with only 6 guests) and 3 bookings.

Wow thats great girls!!

I had one of my bestest just a couple of weeks ago.  My hostess was a repeat hostess, she was actually one of my first perfume party hostesses last year (still on my Learners plates back then!!)

Well I rocked up to the house and she's saying, nic, not sure how many people are coming but will see how we go, after two hours of playing with our beautiful perfumes... three party bookings, one sparkle (new consultant) $1500 in sales and then the next day added another $150 to the party order.

When I delivered her product two weeks later, SHE wants to sign as a consultant and asks me to do a display for the music Christmas production they are having this weekend where she is expecting well over 250 families to attend!!  So I have 4 raffles to donate for the event plus a huge display!!  I can't wait!!!

When I spoke to the first prospective consultant, Millie had really upsold the beautiful LR perfumes to the girls before the party, I just had to be there and look pretty!!
